What is your focus?

Welcome 2014.  A few things have to change. I realised to achieve my dreams in earning an income solely from writing and earn enough to pay the mortgage and not live on stale bread and crackers (joke), a few things have to change.

I guess I can classify 2013 as a tester year. I had so much work, had my own monthly magazine Imagine This, wrote and published 8 eBooks (check them out here: http://www.amazon.com/Melanie-Toye/e/B008XT5V5Y/). And wrote content for my fabulous clients. Plus had 6-7 blogs and several Facebook fan pages.

The problem is, I had so much going on. The other problem is, I discovered I loved each of them.

So for 2014, there is going to be a slight change. A more focussed change.

I am dropping my magazine (among other things) to have more time dedicated to writing and publishing more eBooks and for freelance writing. I already have limited time every day, so it means I need to focus on the two areas I love the most.

This year, is all about slashing the things that take my time out from my focus. I discovered that being busy, is not always helpful when it does not help towards my focus. Even if that busyness is part of the field I am in.

Simply, I just have to cut out everything ‘extra’ that is not 100% related to my focus. I feel this is right for me. To simplify my writing world. I tried to do it all. Yet I am not a superwoman. I look forward to sharing with you in 2015, how my focus plan worked out.

Do you have one focus for 2014? I would love for you to share it with me.
